2026-27 High School Transition Information

  • December 2: AHS comes to visit Journey students during GROWL to go over scheduling and high school expectations.
  • December 3-5: 8th-grade teachers review course progression for each content area.
  • December 4-5: Scholar Studios Information Sessions during P.E. classes
  • December 8-12: 8th grade classroom lesson(s) to discuss transition timeline.
  • December 11: AHS Curriculum Fair & Family Meeting (5:15 pm at AHS)
  • January 9: School Counselor Calendly (course registration meeting links) shared with families
  • January 12-March 18: Individual student and family  meetings to discuss course choices
  • January 22: 9th grade registration evening for Spanish Speaking Families (6:30-7:30 pm)
  • April 3: Last day for course request changes

Community Lab School Virtual Info Sessions

  • Community Lab School is a middle and high school within Albemarle County Public Schools that focuses on inquiry-based approaches to learning. 
  • To learn more about the school, consider attending a virtual info session:
    • Thursday, November 13:  5:30 - 6:30 PM
    • Tuesday, December 9:  2:00 - 3:00 PM
    • Wednesday, January 7:  10:00 - 11:00 AM
    • Thursday, February 19: 6:00 - 7:00PM

    The ACE Academy at Seminole Place offers individual personalized or group tours for interested students and families. Scholar Studios

  • There are several different Scholars Studios that students can enroll in and information is already available to students in the Course Planner in Schoolinks, our college and career platform.
